What "revenue at risk" means

"Revenue at risk" is the estimated income from enquiries that arrive but never get a fast enough reply to convert. It is not lost revenue you were guaranteed — it is a planning figure that shows the potential scale of the response gap, based on the numbers you enter above.

How the calculation works

The calculator uses a simple, transparent formula:

  • Enquiries at risk = monthly enquiries × missed-or-late percentage
  • Potential customers at risk = enquiries at risk × typical conversion rate
  • Estimated monthly revenue at risk = potential customers at risk × average customer value
  • Estimated annual revenue at risk = estimated monthly revenue at risk × 12

Every figure updates immediately in your browser as you change an input — nothing is sent anywhere to calculate a result.

Why response speed matters

A customer who contacts several businesses at once often chooses whoever replies first with a sensible answer, not necessarily whoever is cheapest or best. See what should happen in the first five minutes after an enquiry for the response sequence this is based on.

Why the result is an estimate

The figures you enter are approximations, and not every missed or late enquiry would have converted. This tool is designed to give a directional sense of scale — useful for deciding whether faster response is worth investing in, not as a precise forecast.

How PulseLeads handles missed calls and web enquiries

PulseLeads connects to the lead channels a business already uses. When a call is missed or a form is submitted, it sends an automatic reply in the business's own voice and alerts the right team member, so a human can take over the conversation while it is still live. See our missed-call text template for an example of the wording used.

Calculator FAQs

How the estimate works, and what it doesn't claim.

What is lead-response time?

Lead-response time is how long it takes your business to reply to a new enquiry — a missed call, a web form or a message — after it arrives. Shorter response times generally give a business a better chance of winning the enquiry before a competitor replies first.

How is revenue at risk calculated?

This tool multiplies your monthly enquiries by the percentage missed or answered late to estimate enquiries at risk, applies your typical conversion rate to estimate customers at risk, then multiplies by your average customer value for a monthly figure, and by 12 for an annual one. The full formula is shown above the results.

Does every missed enquiry become a lost customer?

No. Some missed or late enquiries would never have converted anyway, and some customers wait or get in touch again. The calculator applies your own conversion rate specifically so it reflects realistic outcomes rather than assuming every missed enquiry was a guaranteed sale.

Can PulseLeads guarantee that the estimated revenue will be recovered?

No. This calculator is an illustrative planning tool, not a guarantee of additional revenue. Actual results depend on lead quality, availability, your response process and how well enquiries convert — PulseLeads helps close the response gap, but outcomes will vary by business.
